Autism Film Festival
As Autism Awareness Month approaches Johnson County Community College Autism Planning Committee, Autism Speaks and the Kansas Center for Autism Research and Training would like to invite you to join us for this FREE Autism Film Festival hosted by JCCC in The Polsky Theatre located in the Carlsen Center
We think you will enjoy the selection of movies! There will be a Question and Answer format after each film with professionals assisting with questions.

On Thursday, March 31st for the showing of the movie Temple Grandin, there will be reserved parking for guests in the Carlsen Center West Parking Garage starting at 5:30pm. Please let the guard know you are attending the Temple Grandin movie. We will also have a reception in the Virginia Krebs room starting at 6pm.

Autism Film Festival in The Polsky

         Friday, 3/25, noon-2:00 – Autism: The Musical
Autism: The Musical follows five children with autism, their parents and the extraordinary acting coach of Elaine Hall as they improbably and heroically mount a full length original stage production.

            Friday, 3/25, 7:00-9:00PM – Adam  

     Adam is a handsome but intriguing young man with Asperger’s who has all his life led a sheltered existence -- until he meets his new neighbor, Beth, a beautiful, cosmopolitan young woman who pulls him into the outside world, with funny, touching and entirely unexpected results. Starring Hugh Dancy and Rose Byrne

         Thursday, 3/31, 7:00-9:00PM – Temple Grandin  

Temple Grandin is the award winning film on the life of Temple Grandin, and how she overcomes challenges and turns them to strengths. Starring Award Winning, Claire Danes as Temple Grandin.

         Friday, 4/1, noon-2:00PM – Today’s Man

Today’s Man follows Nicky as he struggles to leave the safety of his family’s home and the comfort of his favorite TV shows in order to find a job and an apartment. Made by Nicky’s sister Lizzie Gottlieb, the film is a sister’s search to understand her brother’s mysterious inner life and a larger effort to comprehend Asperger Syndrome and the people who struggle with it.
