Best Part of the Week!

That describes Chandler's experience with the Challenger program. So, how does a 6th grader become recognized as a dedicated volunteer and one that is treasured by many? Chandler has been a Buddy for the past three years actively involved with tennis, basketball and many more activities. The athletes often hear her say, "That was awesome!"

Chandler has a new favorite memory. During the Sports Complex Dedication, her Buddy wanted to stay in the dugout the whole time because he'd never been able to get his wheelchair in a dugout before. It was fun seeing all the kids so happy.

When asked what Chandler would say to others to encourage them to become involved, this is what she had to say:

"Being a Challenger Volunteer is fun for both the kids and you. When you are a Buddy you realize how lucky you are to have the life that you have been given. Once you start helping you are having just as much fun as the athletes!"

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Chandler for your time, dedication and bringing such joy to the lives of others. You are a gem!
